Development authorities in Georgia exist as special-purpose governments to provide certain services to the community on behalf of the local governing body. Article IX, Section VI, Paragraph III of the Georgia Constitution states, in part, that their purpose is to “promote and further the development of trade, commerce, industry, and employment opportunities.”
Meetings are held the third Thursday of every other month at 3:00 p.m. in the second-floor Training Room, unless otherwise noted.
Our current Development Authority comprises the following directors: Chair Lamar Mercer, Jordan McNeal, Love Patel, Les Preston, Jim Rexroat, and Kevin Smith with Ben Perkins serving as Attorney.
