We are thrilled to announce that the City of Pooler has once again been honored with the prestigious Tree City USA designation. 2023 marks the City’s ninth year of recognition and underscores our ongoing commitment to urban forestry and environmental stewardship.
The Tree City USA program, sponsored by the Arbor Day Foundation in partnership with the U.S. Forest Service and the National Association of State Foresters, recognizes communities across the nation that demonstrate a dedication to managing and expanding their urban forests. To achieve Tree City USA status, a community must meet four essential standards: the establishment of a tree board or department, enactment of a tree care ordinance, allocation of an annual budget for community forestry, and observance of Arbor Day with a community celebration or proclamation.
Join us in celebrating this recognition and reaffirming our commitment to preserving and enhancing the natural beauty of Pooler.
About Tree City USA: Tree City USA is a nationwide program that provides the framework for communities to manage and expand their public trees. More than 3,600 communities have earned Tree City USA designation, making a difference across the country.
