Notice of Property Tax Increase
NOTICE OF PROPERTY TAX INCREASE
The City of Pooler, Georgia has tentatively adopted a millage rate which will require an increase in property taxes by 27.80 percent.
All concerned citizens are invited to the public hearings on this tax increase to be held at City Hall on Thursday, July 15, 2021 at 3:00 p.m., Friday, July 16, 2021 at 9:00 a.m., Monday, July 19, 2021 at 6:00 p.m., Monday, July 26 at 12:00 p.m., and Wednesday, August 11, 2021 at 2:00 p.m.
The millage rate will be set at a Special Called Meeting of Mayor and Council to be held Wednesday, August 11, 2021 at 2:00 p.m at City Hall,100 US Highway 80, Pooler, GA 31322. Teleconference access will be available for this meeting for those who cannot attend in person by calling (571) 317-3112 and using access code 663-891-213.
This tentative increase will result in a millage rate of 4.597 mills, an increase of one (1) mill. Without this tentative tax increase, the millage rate will be no more than 3.597 mills. The proposed tax increase for a home with a fair market value of $175,000 is approximately $70 and the proposed tax increase for non-homestead property with a fair market value of $200,000 is approximately $80.
