Fiscal Year 2022 Budget

There will be two public hearings held for the city's Fiscal Year 2022 Budget: Monday, December 6 and Monday, December 20 at 6:00 p.m. at City Hall. All interested parties are invited to attend. A copy of the proposed budget is available for viewing here.

Santa's Visiting Pooler in December!

The City of Pooler is very lucky to have been able to schedule time for Santa Claus to visit our neighborhoods. In order to keep Santa and our firefighters safe, we will not be able to step off of the truck and visit, but we will wave and wish you a Merry Christmas! Please see below for Santa’s schedule. City Hall Building Maintenance Closure - 9/10/21

City Hall will be closing on Friday, September 10, 2021 at 12:00 p.m. HVAC repairs. Standard business hours will resume on Monday, September 13, 2021.

Chamber Postpones Patriot Weekend Celebration

The Greater Pooler Area Chamber of Commerce's Patriot Weekend event, originally planned for September 10-12, has been postponed until spring 2022. For additional information, visit poolerchamber.com.

City Council Planning Retreat

Notice is hereby given that the Mayor and Council of the City of Pooler, GA are holding a planning retreat including an executive session to discuss personnel, legal, and/or real estate matters on Thursday, July 29, 2021 from 8:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. at The Club at Savannah Quarters, 8 Palladian Way, Pooler, GA 31322. All interested parties are invited to attend.

City Hall Closure 7/7

Due to the inclement weather, we will be closing today at 3:00pm. We plan to open as scheduled tomorrow 7/8/21.

Sewer System Smoke Test

Beginning the week of July 26, EOM operations will be conducting a smoke test of the sewer system in the areas near Moore Avenue and Rogers Street. In the event you see smoke coming from vent pipes on your roof or around your toilet, sink, shower, or tub drains, DO NOT be alarmed. The smoke being used is completely human and pet-friendly. If the smoke does appear in the areas mentioned, it may indicate that you have an internal plumbing issue. Questions? Contact Public Works at (912) 330-8650. 

Notice of Property Tax Increase

NOTICE OF PROPERTY TAX INCREASE

The City of Pooler, Georgia has tentatively adopted a millage rate which will require an increase in property taxes by 27.80 percent.

All concerned citizens are invited to the public hearings on this tax increase to be held at City Hall on Thursday, July 15, 2021 at 3:00 p.m., Friday, July 16, 2021 at 9:00 a.m.,  Monday, July 19, 2021 at 6:00 p.m., Monday, July 26 at 12:00 p.m., and Wednesday, August 11, 2021 at 2:00 p.m.

The millage rate will be set at a Special Called Meeting of Mayor and Council to be held Wednesday, August 11, 2021 at 2:00 p.m at City Hall,100 US Highway 80, Pooler, GA 31322. Teleconference access will be available for this meeting for those who cannot attend in person by calling (571) 317-3112 and using access code 663-891-213.

This tentative increase will result in a millage rate of 4.597 mills, an increase of one (1) mill. Without this tentative tax increase, the millage rate will be no more than 3.597 mills. The proposed tax increase for a home with a fair market value of $175,000 is approximately $70 and the proposed tax increase for non-homestead property with a fair market value of $200,000 is approximately $80.
